The BFI is an internationally recognized cultural body, and the lead organization for film in the UK. We are a Government arm’s length body and distributor of Lottery funds for film. We serve a public role which covers the cultural, creative and economic aspects of film in the UK.

The BFI Impact, Discovery, Development and Future Takes funds champion emerging and world-class filmmakers from a wide variety of backgrounds by investing in creative, distinctive and entertaining work.
We are seeking knowledgeable and experienced freelance Script Readers for the BFI Filmmaking Fund. We want a strong, diverse pool of script readers that we can trust to provide us with reliable and insightful assessments in order to contribute to a rigorous assessment process for Production, Development and Future Takes applications. Successful applicants will be assessing feature-length and short film scripts as well as treatment documents, pitch decks and manuscripts where appropriate, for the Filmmaking Fund’s Impact, Discovery, Development and Future Takes funds in relation to the BFI’s funding priorities.
